ReplyDeleteI just stumbled on your blog from your Tibet ride and enjoyed it immensely. Congratulations to all of you for your achievement and the substantial fundraising you did for OCF. Ten of us (8 cyclists and 2 spouses) from the US did the same ride a couple of weeks ahead, leaving Lhasa on 9/22 and arriving Kathmandu 10/4. Generally we seemed to have better weather. You can find our blog at: tibetride.blogspot.com but it wasn't as well done as yours. That's the chance you take with having many people do postings plus we couldn't access it directly while we were in China since it was a Google blog location. We also hated the road from the Friendship Highway to Rongbuk but found the short gravel road to EBC to be much better. Once we descended from Rongbuk to the bridge and starting climbing over the Lamna La pass we really enjoyed the ride to Tingri.
